Mom, Fitness Instructor, Walla Walla native

Hi, I am Ashley Barnhart, a Walla Walla native. I attended DeSales High School and graduated in 2005. I graduated from college with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Boise State University.

After college my husband and I landed in Seattle Washington where we started our family. I am mom to Emmaline, 4 and Lucia, 22 months and wife to Jacob. In the summer of 2019, we decided to bring our girls back to Walla Walla. I have always been an athlete, playing sports constantly from a young age up through college. It wasn’t until after the birth of our first daughter that I realized how important fitness was for my mental health. I joined a local fitness group in Seattle that offered wonderful support and connections.

I started instructing mothers in their journey with fitness in 2016. But it wasn’t until the birth of my second daughter where the support became an absolute essential part of survival. Our second daughter has had a tough road with a lot of unforeseen issues that have challenged me to my core. I sank into debilitating postpartum depression and anxiety. My support system in Seattle lifted me up in nearly everyway they could.

I clung to fitness to help combat PPD/anxiety. This is where my absolute love for fitness groups specially for moms started. I felt a strong calling to bring this type of group to the mothers of my hometown. It is an absolute joy for me to teach class. I love to hear from clients as they continue to see changes mentally and physically.
